Predictive Aeration Control (In Development)

Technical guide | Keywords: predictive aeration, smart aeration algorithm, pond hypoxia prediction (in development)

Today's automatic aeration reacts: it adds oxygen after DO drops. The SAFEBACK Kantangren predictive aeration control in development aims to know when hypoxia will hit and aerate beforehand — shifting from reaction to prevention. This feature is in R&D validation (in development) and is not yet a released function.

What predictive aeration solves

Real-time closed-loop control already protects the pond, but it is essentially corrective: DO falls, then the system compensates. Predictive control acts before the drop, smoothing the DO curve, saving more energy and moving the risk window earlier. It is an enhancement layer on top of DO closed-loop, not a replacement.

What data feeds the prediction

The model uses historical DO curves, water temperature, weather (cloud, pressure, temperature swings) and feeding records to learn "under what conditions DO bottoms out in a few hours", then outputs a hypoxia probability and a suggested aeration curve for the next hours. The model is still in training and field validation (in development).

Relationship to the existing DO closed-loop

The prediction layer supplies an "advance amount"; the validated real-time DO closed-loop remains the floor. If prediction is wrong, the loop still protects. The two stack: prediction for "smoother and cheaper", loop for "never fails".

Development status and limits

Work is at algorithm training and small-scale field validation; it is not yet sold or promised as a finished function. Final performance depends on field data and model generalization and is not a released specification — please do not cite it as an existing capability.

FAQ

Is predictive control available now?
It is in development. Today's released product uses validated real-time DO closed-loop control; the prediction layer is still in training and field validation and is not released.
What benefit does it bring?
It moves aeration from reactive to anticipatory, further smoothing the DO curve and lowering peak energy use, while the underlying loop keeps it safe.
