Reliable Restart After Power Loss
On blackout every aerator stops and dissolved oxygen starts falling; when power returns, every motor starting at once can trip the breaker and make things worse. The SAFEBACK Kantangren reliable-restart design turns a blackout into a managed event: buffer the gap, restart in staged order, and keep a verifiable log.
Storage buffer: no instant stop on blackout
The system is built on a DC48V system-level power bus with modular storage. When mains fails, storage takes over in milliseconds ([SPEC] switchover under 100 ms) so aerators keep turning on inertia plus storage — buying the farmer time instead of stalling on the spot.
Staged restart: avoid inrush trips
On recovery the system does not switch everything on. The controller starts aerators in groups by load: half first to watch DO recover, then the rest in batches, avoiding the large starting current that trips RCDs and contactors. This extends the multi-aerator linkage logic to the restart path.
Outage logging and alerts
Every blackout, recovery and restart action is time-stamped to the cloud, and the platform pushes both "power lost" and "restored" alerts to the phone. Even away from the pond, the farmer knows what happened and whether the system self-protected.
Dual feed and generator integration
For sites that demand high reliability, dual mains feeds or a diesel generator can be linked: on mains loss the system switches to backup, and on recovery switches back and restarts loads in order. Dual feed plus storage forms layered protection that pushes dawn-mass-mortality risk to the minimum.
Choosing a restart configuration
| Setup | Fits | Protection |
|---|---|---|
| Single feed plus storage | Standard ponds | Short blackout buffer |
| Dual mains | Reliable town supply | Main/backup switch |
| Storage plus generator | Frequent-outage areas | Long off-grid run |
FAQ
- Do aerators resume automatically?
- Yes. After power returns the controller starts them in staged groups — half first to watch DO recover, then the rest — avoiding the inrush that trips breakers.
- How do I know there was an outage?
- The cloud logs every outage, recovery and restart with time-stamps and pushes both 'power lost' and 'restored' alerts to your phone, even when you are away.
